Church of the Good Shepherd
The Church of the Good Shepherd needed to expand their award-winning modern church, and to improve accessibility for its members. The addition, to the left of the photo, provides office and classroom space, along with an elevator.
Dexter Library
The Dexter District Library extensively renovated this former church classroom building for a new public library. CDI provided full architectural and site planning services. The Library has since moved to a much larger brand new building designed by a library specialist, with CDI providing local representation for the specialist firm.
Liberty Athletic Club –Renovations
Liberty Athletic Club was originally built as a tennis center, with large earth berms up to the edge of the roof on either side. By removing the berms, we were able to recapture significant amounts of usable space below the existing roof, sufficient to allow installation of a spinning room, additional fitness rooms, a child care area (shown in one of the images), and future expansion space. Large windows made the new spaces bright and comfortable for occupants.
Liberty Athletic Club – Pool Addition
Liberty Athletic Club has a thriving year-round fitness facility, as well as a large summer program for children centered around an outdoor pool, but it did not have space for children’s activities for the rest of the year. This indoor pool addition, which also included a small gymnasium, met that need with water activities for children of all ages.
Karnik Pet Care
This new kennel breaks the mold of typical dark, dingy kennels. Skylights provide natural light for the kennel areas, with a central play area for indoor recreation. Mechanical systems provide ample fresh air to minimize odors. We worked closely with the Owner so the building coordinated with his proprietary kennel design.
